Sorry if this is a dumb question, but did you reboot when it rejoined the
domain, prior to trying to access the share?

Also, AD gives you and your computer a security key at the time you log
in. When you try to access a share, the system checks to see what your
SID is and if the ACL for that share doesn’t see that SID as having permission,
it will deny you.

One other thing to check is the actual security settings on the share, both
at the share level and the NTFS level. Make sure that nothing has
changed.

Thank you Bill. I removed it from the domain, joined a workgroup, and
deleted the object in AD. Now I rejoined it, and it took about 30 seconds
on the 'applying your personal settings' screen, but eventually logged me on.
But now I can't access the share I need to...I see the computer from
other workstations, but it says it's not accessible...

If you kept the same name for the workstation, you will have to remove it
from AD prior to joining it to the domain. At this point, I’d run this
process:

1. Remove it from the domain by joining
a workgroup.

2. Now make sure that AD no longer has
it listed.

3. Re-add it to the domain.

That should be it…

I just upgraded a workstation that was running Windows 2000 Pro to Windows
XP Pro, and joined it to our domain. Now it's saying: the system cannot
log you on because the domain controller is unavailable. When I log on
locally, I get an IP. This is our finance server and it's payroll time!
Help! :-)
