Another option is the Blackberry Tour. We have a group of people using them at our church, and even though it's through Verizon, the Tour takes a SIM card so you can still use them overseas.<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">

My son in law's dad is a pilot and he has been barnstorming around<br>
Alaska for the past 3 or 4 summers. He did have a Sat. phone but this<br>
year he bought something called SPOT. The web site is<br>

Have you looked at sat phones? The price to purchase and rental has come<br>
down significantly and many now include unlimited inbound calling...<br>
(but good luck getting a local number for the caller).<br>

We explored this about a year ago and had thought about forwarding an<br>
800 number to a sat phone....<br>

Obviously, we didn't proceed so it had some concerns.<br>

We are looking for the best way to keep in contact with our various<br>
mission trips. Skype work great as long as the trip is somewhere with<br>
Internet access, however what about the areas that are not. What Cell<br>
phone would you recommend for international use (if they can get cell)<br>
or other options. We are looking at probably a single option that could<br>
be shared by each trip. It would be very rare to have trips overlap that<br>
did not have Internet access.<br>

Also, would you have recommendation for the best portable web cam &<br>
microphone for Skype for use on their laptops.<br>
<br>
Any thought appreciated. An example of no Internet service is a remote<br>
village in Peru.<br>
